Leathercraft Article and How to Video by Bruce Cheaney
This leathercraft tutorial shows you how to make your own buck stitching lace string for buckstitching belts, saddles or any kind of leather craft item that needs to be hand stitch together.
The leather used for making this buckstitch is made by Tennessee Tanning and is the burgundy latigo color that I believe is chrome tanned. Find more latigo resources at the bottom of this post.
The tools I use for buckstitching are diamond shaped awls that are old leather tools that have been in the family for many years. The splitting gauge or the draw knife I used for this tutorial is one that I purchased on online and reworked it a little bit so it would cut strait and efficiently.
Thank You for taking the time to watch this video tutorial on making your own buck stitch lace.
