Sewing leather wear leathers on saddle skirts with harness machine

Sewing Leather Article and How to Video by Bruce Cheaney

Sewing leather wear leathers on saddle skirts with heavy duty harness stitcher machine. After tooling and carving the design into the saddle skirts and wear leathers it was time to stitch the wear leather onto the skirts. The glue I use most of the time is made by Dap and is called Weldwood contact cement, I find that it works just about as good as any leather glue. The thread I like and use all the time is white polyester size 346 and the needle size is 230. A scratch groove for the stitching helps protect the stitches from wearing out to soon. I like and use a C S Osborne scratch compass that you can find at most leathercraft supply companies.
